Old ideas are a bit like eggs — fragile on the outside, yet oddly resilient. Take the traditional belief in the gender binary, for example. It’s been passed down for generations, treated as something solid and unquestionable. People keep fiddling with it, turning it this way and that, but really, it’s long past its expiry date.
